Recently I was "interviewed" by someone from movingscam.com. It was something to write about!

The interview was conducted to prove that my company was real worthy of their endorsement. How cool is that -- someone actually verifies an auto transport company before endorsing them!

I'd like to start by saying I was quite impressed with the knowledge this person already had of my company...it was clear she did her homework. Since I've spent the last 10+ years of my life shipping cars I've become all too familiar with the hundreds of websites that contain the advertisements of my competitors. I honestly feel sorry for the person that has never shipped a car and then stumbles onto one or several of these sites, because some of them "look" really good. These sites offer to provide you with "free shipping quotes from reliable auto movers".

Do you think they know or care what reliable means? I have personal knowledge of many sites that are run to GET MONEY by selling your email to whoever will pay for it. Most of those "one request, many quotes" has nothing to do with shipping cars. They just ship your email address for whoever will pay for it.

If you haven't yet visited movingscam.com, do it now! They provide valuable insight not just on auto relocation but household goods as well. They have a message board where REAL people post their REAL experiences and the companies they endorse have been thoroughly checked out.

To give you an example of the questions I was asked...

• How did I get the job with ProStar (prior to purchasing the company)?
• Are my current employees relatives of mine?
• Do I have an actual office space or is it run out of my home?
• What is my physical address (which was then followed by the questions about my previous addresses)
• What are the previous owners doing now?
• What does my husband do?

Now to me the majority of those questions aren't relative to how I ship cars...but if you think about it the answers definitely give you some insight as to what type of person I am and just how legitimate we are as a company. Althought it was a bit strange, I had no problem answering any of these questions because I was proud to be one of the few brokers that really care about quality! And if everyone they endorse has been asked similar questions I would have no problem choosing to go with any of those companies.

It would be fantastic if everyone were so inquisitive before they start promoting others but unfortunately that's just not the way of the world today.
